Education to Transcend Poverty

At CEFZ Zanzibar Steiner School, we provide free education, full nutrition, and full medical care to some of Zanzibar's neediest children. Our multi-pronged approach to overcoming poverty by offering effective education is aimed at resulting in employable, community-conscious young adults.

It might be considered a cliche, but in our part of the world, the poverty cycle is real - without education, unemployment is rife, leading to food insecurity, and malnutrition. For children, this results in never having a chance to reach their full potential as contributing adults.

Our only entrance exam is life circumstances because we believe every child has a right to quality education, and through this can support their own families and steward their communities.

For less than the price of your daily coffee, you can join us in disrupting life paths, for the better.

Steiner Education is a pedagogy for the head, hands, and heart. By integrating the arts through the entire curriculum children develop a deep understanding of their subjects and creativity in their learning, and goodness, beauty and truth become part of the child. Steiner Education began in 1919 and in over 100 years nothing much has changed - no educational fashions, no new trends; just a solid education system producing a community of ethical life-long learners, conscious thinkers, and creators, capable of being both autonomous, and of working together for the common good in a divided world.
