Creative Education Foundation Zanzibar Ltd was established in Australia to support the Zanzibar Steiner School.
CEFZL was registered with Australian Securities Investments Commission (ASIC) on 5 December 2017 with the aim of providing benevolent relief of poverty and distress (including destitution, suffering, and helplessness) to orphans, disadvantaged and under-privileged children from low income backgrounds in Zanzibar.
CEFZL meets these objectives by working in partnership with the trustees, employees and volunteers of the Zanzibar Steiner School.
CEFZL is a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). It is a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) and has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status with the Australian Tax Office.

CEFZL carries out activities to raise funds that are channeled to CEFZ for the purpose of delivering programs and undertaking activities that provide benevolent relief and support children’s learning. CEFZL’s fundraising activities are guided by the needs of the Zanzibar Steiner School’s projects and activities.
CEFZL provides administrative and program support, knowledge and expertise to help the Zanzibar Steiner School. meet project goals and to ensure that funds provided to the Zanzibar Steiner School are managed correctly and with full transparency and accountability. These support activities are undertaken by CEFZL on a volunteer basis predominantly from Australia.
CEFZL board members travel to Zanzibar to make occasional visits to the Zanzibar Steiner School to meet with trustees, staff and volunteers; observe program delivery; determine local need and provide volunteer services as required. These visits are undertaken voluntarily.
