The Creative Education Foundation Zanzibar Ltd (CEFZ L) assists in the education of underprivileged children through a range of activities, based in Australia, that will enable community-based educators to deliver quality learning options in Zanzibar. Examples of these support activities include fund raising, governance, auditing and financial management, advising on policy making, transparency and compliance, and general assistance as required.
Creative Education Foundation Zanzibar Ltd (CEFZL) was registered with ASIC on 5 December 2017 to with the aim of providing benevolent relief of poverty and distress (including destitution, suffering, and helplessness) to orphans, disadvantaged and under-privileged children from low income backgrounds in Zanzibar.
CEFZ L has tax deductible gift recipient status in Australia, allowing tax deductible donations. Our Board Members work on a voluntary basis and travel to Zanzibar primarily at their own expense to support the activities of CEFZ.
CEFZL carries out volunteer activities to raise funds that are channelled to CEFZ for the purpose of delivering programs in Zanzibar in accordance with CEFZ's mission and undertakes activities to provide benevolent relief and support children’s learning in Zanzibar.
CEFZL’s fundraising activities are guided by the needs of CEFZ's projects and activities in Zanzibar.
CEFZL provides volunteer administrative and program support, knowledge and expertise to help CEFZ meet project goals in Zanzibar and to ensure that funds provided to CEFZ are managed correctly and with full transparency and accountability.
These support activities are undertaken by CEFZL on a volunteer basis predominantly from Australia.
CEFZL board members travel to Zanzibar to make occasional visits to CEFZ School to meet with trustees, staff and volunteers; observe program delivery; determine local need and provide volunteer services as required. These visits are undertaken voluntarily.
CEFZ Zanzibar Steiner School receives no government funding and fund raise independently for all our services.
Our students do not, and cannot pay fees. CEFZ do not usually qualify for international aid because we operate on a small scale, with an intense teacher-mentoring program, however, with your support we can make a difference in the lives of many.
We improve educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Zanzibar by providing quality education without regard to race, ethnicity, or religious belief. We promote a diverse and competitive educational environment.
